Estimates are free. Trust is earned!

When hiring a handyman service, a few things should be considered:

1. Is the person doing the work licensed, bonded, and insured. If they are licensed, they should have a card to show upon request stating:
     a. The license number
     b. The license type  example
         general contractor
     c. The persons name and address
     d. The companies name and
         address
     e. The area licensed to
         practice in.

This is ONE of the 3 critical things that you should ask of ANYONE before you hire them. The next 2 items are also tied together with the license as they are neccesary in order to even GET a license!

Some other important things to
consider are:

1.  The handyman performing the work
should be able to show you
     their certificate of insurance
     listing:
     a. The insurance companies
         name and address
     b. The person doing the works
         name and address
     c. The type of insurance and
         the amount of liability
         coverage.

If they are NOT BONDED, this should be a RED FLAG! A bond should show the Insurance Companies name, Bond #, the handymans name and company, who the bond is in favor of, beginning and ending date, the amount and the description of bond.

References and pictures are also a good idea and should be no problem for the experienced handyman to provide.
